After arrival, a brief tour of the city. At first glance, it may seem unremarkable, but after returning from the Sahara, it will feel like a different world.
We pick up our expedition vehicles with local drivers and bring all the equipment we need. Where we are heading, there is nothing—just sand, rocks, and the silence of the desert.
The colors of the sand change—from yellow to white to red. The landscape shifts as dunes give way to endless plains, as if we had entered a vast, boundless expanse.
We will stop in local villages, buy fresh food, and learn about everyday life—where people get water, how families function, and why many residents never leave their village.
One of Africa’s most breathtaking natural regions. Stone arches, rock walls, sandstone labyrinths, and cliffs evoke a blend of several U.S. national parks—only with sand and a Saharan atmosphere. We will not encounter any tourists here.

Near the border with Libya, a surprise awaits us—a freshwater lake in the middle of the desert. The water is only 15°C (59°F), while surface temperatures rise toward 50°C (122°F).
The Sahara reveals its most beautiful forms. In the evening, we will enjoy a sky filled with stars—free of light pollution, it feels like a living planetarium.
After days in the desert, a paved road feels like a luxury, yet many people would rather remember the silence of the desert, conversations around the fire, and nights beneath the stars.
Citizens of Slovakia and the Czech Republic need visas for Chad, which we will arrange on your behalf. We will need to physically collect your passport approximately one month before departure. We will inform you about the exact procedure.
This trip is not physically demanding; the only potentially challenging aspect may be the longer transfers. The initial excitement of the Sahara can later give way to a sense of monotony amid the endless sandy landscape. After the first third of the journey, however, we will reach areas that will take your breath away: dramatic canyons, beautiful oases with cool water suitable for swimming, warm encounters with local people, and stunning rock formations that can easily rival Arches National Park in Utah.
The greatest experience, however, is often the night sky—filled with millions of stars unlike anything you have ever seen. We bet that you will experience the most beautiful night sky of your life here. And if not, you will receive a small gift from us 🙂
